The Iconic Arbutus

The fast disappearing arbutus trees are only found on a short strip of west coast from Oregon up to the tip of Vancouver Island. As their habitat disappears they have become a popular image for painters who relish the colour of the bark which varies from lime green to reddish brown depending on the time of year.
